beginning bellydancer going on 2006 cruise needs ideas on which classes to take

help!!! i am going on this year's cruise and need some help deciding which workshops to take... i have been taking classes since april with a student/teacher from suhaila's dance troupe, and am still really working on trying to do the moves and walk at the same time:)

most of the cruise workshops, with the exception of the ATS workshop, seem to be geared to dancers with more experience, and who are starting to work on layering...

i am fit and enjoy a good workout, but do have a neck injury that limits some of what i can do in terms of keeping my arms up and/or overhead right now, although i really want to start working on my arms and learn more about how to play zills (have zills, ansuya's dvd and took one afternoon workshop this summer)

advice & suggestions are very much appreciated!

Drum Circle and Dance 2004 Last Cruise

Dear 2005 ANAS Cruisers, Last year we were blessed with a late night impromptu hafla on Sunday night up on the promenade out side of the clubs with Vernon and Joanne drumming ( me too, but I danced mostly), we toted extra drums and had a circle ( just like Village Mandala ) that many passers -by stopped at to dance in on the marble floor. Doug Adams and Fathiem jammed for awhile, and my Idaho Girls ( where are you PepperBelly@yahoo.com...)? I oughta post those jpegs, but they are so dark. That was one of my favorite memories, the acoustics in that hall were wonderful and there is nothing like live drumming, I will bet Donovan can be persuaded. Have a wonderful time and take lots of pictures to post here, we can not attend this year.

Ok so a few years back we had this great impromptu drum/dance jam on the pool deck late at night where we all danced and danced and danced.

I wanna know if anyone is bringing musicians with instruments with them that might wanna just play for an open dancing night?

This is totally unplanned but who's with me on bringing this together?????? I'll pack a boombox if I have to. Will someone(s) bring batteries. We can play CDs if we have to.

Until then, there is no standard form to fill out in order to register for ‘ 05 ANAS.
Simply send your check or money order with a letter stating:

1. Full (LEGAL) Name

There are usually 8-10 individual workshops of 1 1/2 to 2 hours each, subjects usually include at least one of each of these:

Drum Solo
Drumming (playing)
Choreography / Interpretation / Use of Music
Performance Skills (entrances and exits, creating personal style, emotional dynamics, developing your dance accent)

Cancellation Insurance

Cancellation Insurance is not required but recommended.

Carnival Cruise Vacation Protection Plan $39 Per Person, or $19 Per Person (AGE 16 & UNDER) (Pre-existing condition exclusions). Covers Trip Cancellation for covered injury, illness or death affecting you, your immediate family or your traveling companions.

Covers: TRIP INTERUPTION, TRIP DELAY (up to $500), BAGGAGE PROTECTION (covers up to $1,500), MEDICAL EXPENSE COVERAGE (up to $10,000), EMERGENCY EVACUATION (up to $30,000) and UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES, i.e. subpoena, jury duty, documented traffic accident while en route, quarantine, hijack, or home made uninhabitable by natural disasters. (Full description of coverage will accompany cruise documents).

If a participant cancels AFTER JULY 20, 2005 they will forfeit the Non-Refundable Deposit, plus Cancellation Penalties imposed by Carnival Cruise Lines. With TRIP CANCELLATION INSURANCE, you will still forfeit the $100.00 Non-Refundable deposit, but will be entitled to full refunds on a covered claim.
